Unveiled in January 2013, the Anaheim Convention Center Grand Plaza — once a throughway for taxis and buses — is now a dramatic and expansive pedestrian mall and outdoor event space. The award-winning design pays tribute to the area’s agricultural roots, while also maintaining a festive feel — fitting given the plaza’s proximity to Disneyland, which is across the street.
Measuring 1,400 feet in length and 120 feet in width, the plaza features three fountains, 60 fresh orange groves, 151 new palm trees, and outdoor event space unified by a River of Light theme — including a stretch of blue pavers that simulate the flowing Santa Ana River. Flanking the plaza just outside the convention center entrance, concrete seat walls underlit with iLight Plexineon White 1X Series LED fixtures add to the theme by contributing a stunning glow to the $15 million project.
Located in downtown Los Angeles at Figueroa and Seventh streets, FIGat7th is a sprawling 330,000-square-foot open-air shopping mall that needed a makeover.
Opened in 1986, the complex is originally known as 7+Fig first catered to office workers in the city’s surrounding financial district. Since then, residential developments have sprouted up downtown, and attractions like the nearby Staples Center have enlivened an area that used to be quiet after business hours.
To capitalize on the new, hip vibe, FIGat7th recently underwent a $40 million rebranding and makeover that included prominent placement of Plexineon White 2X 3500K fixtures.

When the Chicago Marriott O’Hare Airport hotel embarked on a $40 million renovation, one of its goals was to create a more dramatic entrance.
Located near O’Hare International Airport and 15 miles from downtown Chicago, the hotel sought to create a gateway that would set it apart from other area airport hotels.
With the addition of an elegant and contemporary porte cochere, that goal is achieved — especially at night, when the structure’s sweeping curves are highlighted with iLight Plexineon White 2X Series fixtures.
Located on the campus of San Antonio College, the recently expanded and renovated Scobee Education Center showcases San Antonio’s heritage and future as an aerospace hub, as well as the wonders of space and career opportunities in aerospace engineering, science and technology.
The center includes the Scobee Planetarium, an icon in the community for more than 50 years. As part of the project, the Planetarium was expanded from one-and-a-half stories to three stories and now includes an observation deck, where nighttime stargazing events connect students and the city’s citizens with the universe.
During such events, iLight’s color-changing Hypnotica LED fixtures glow around the perimeter of the deck. Installed inches above the ground, they serve as an energizing and modern design element, while also providing appropriate illumination.
A new Asian fusion restaurant in Chicago’s Chinatown provides not only a cool, contemporary setting for dining, but also a stage for karaoke, creating a unique addition to a neighborhood with an emerging nightlife scene.
The ample space throughout 15/20 Lounge incorporates a range of textures and dramatic elements. Contrasting against brick walls and other industrial elements are sleek strips of light that pop against the otherwise low ambient lighting. Among them are iLight Plexineon Red LED fixtures recessed and mounted vertically along one side of a narrow hallway that leads to private party rooms.
Once a humble workshed, the new administrative center for the Claremont University Consortium (CUC) in Claremont, California, is a stunning study in how creative light installations can give an existing structure a second life.
Central to the building’s rebirth is a vertical linear pattern of iLight Plexineon White 1X Series fixtures that highlight the exterior — redefining the structure’s public presence and acting as a precursor to new dynamic and user-friendly interior.
